This book was the source for most of my information on this site. I got it for Christmas and have found it VERY informative, helpful and facinating. The author, Eliza Gaynor Minden, covers many things that most books do not; such as ballet for adults, ballet during pregnancies, what to expect from ballet class and how to make the most of class, etc. Its great for people just beginning ballet, or who have been doing it for years. It covers a broad range of information that would be useful to anyone remotely interested in ballet. A great book! You can buy it for $41.00 Canadian, or $29.95 US.
"Ballet for Dummies"
I've flipped through this book a few times, although I do not own it and from what I understand it is geared more towards beginner ballet students, or people who are simply interested in the art of ballet without actually participating in it. It boasts the ability to build on one's appreciaton of ballet, learn about the day in the life of a ballerina, and speaking the language of ballet. There seems to be a lot of other good stuff in there too; such as how to improve your alignment, flexibility, and turn out.
